The purposes of the course are to show you how to: a) think in and communicate more effectively in modern English, using ""EQ"" (Emotional Intelligence); b) learn about and actively discuss World Issues, from an International point of view; c) enjoy dynamic, interesting conversations in smooth, Modern English; d) try to understand International humor; and (hopefully) try to use such humor effectively; and e) (if students are interested) research and 'give' (present) a class presentation. ※同一学期に同一教員の重複履修不可  |

                      Students will be shown examples of ways to ask & answer English questions. Then, students will be invited to produce their OWN spoken replies to similar questions/similar situations...and to explain a LOT, in modern, high-EQ English. English pairwork will be requested, so that classmates can get to know each other better. | ||||||||||

The instructor will use the ongoing assessment technique. You will be assessed often, on: how well you participate in class; how well you speak and elaborate (explain) in English, the ways in which you reason (think); how well you use the information taught to you; how well you work together with other class members; and so on. Your grade will be tentatively determined by: ongoing class assessments (approximately 35%); class participation (20%); and homework/test(s)/presentations (45%).  |
