In this class we will “travel” around the world and study the cultures of English-speaking countries in the following areas:  North America; the UK; Australia, New Zealand and Pacific Islands; Canada; India (Including Pakistan, Nepal, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, etc.) African nations (i.e. South Africa, Kenya, Botswana, etc.).  |

 In this class we will examine issues that shape the cultures of various countries of the English-speaking world. Students will investigate topics such as religion, immigration, social control and make group presentations.  No textbook required. Handouts will be provided  |

 Each student will give 3 or 4 five-minute presentations throughout the semester. Each student will also write one page per week in a reflective notebook. The notebook should include approximately ½ page of a summary of the lecture and presentations, and ½ page of opinions and thoughts. |
